The Problem Not too long ago I setup Sick Beard and SABNzb. It grabs all my tv shows automatically, renames them, puts them in the appropriate folders that Plex Media Server (PMS) is supposed to scan and find changes and auto add the content to my library. After searching through the Plex forums and other places online, I’ve found that the most common answer is to do a deep refresh. From my understanding, it simply scans the folders in your library and checks their modified date.
Then I then completely uninstalled Plex, did a reinstall with the latest version again, and the issue still persists. NAS: TVS-871 (Intel)Firmware version: 4.2.2 Build 20160901HDD: 3 WD Red NAS drives, 4TB each in RAID 5Plex PMS version: 18.104.22.16800I'm a bit of a Linux noob, and the same can certainly be said about a NAS and Plex. I guess QNAP team is behind the testing of new software. QNAP's app center will never be 100% up to date with Plex releases due to the frequency of Plex changes/updates. Also by doing that I can roll-back my Plex to a previous version as I have the QPKG file on my laptop if something goes wonky.I suspect this is a QNAP issue, rather than a Plex issue. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (click the gear looking thing on top right) Select the file and Run. Running a deep scan always seems to find the new content and add it to the library. The only problem with that though is that you can’t set PMS to run a deep scan by default as opposed to the turbo scan. I set up SABNzb and Sick Beard so I could have it ALL automated, not just the majority. So the plex server is working, I have added two movies and can play them.
The metadata for the movies in my library will not update.
This is my first Ubuntu server so please use layman's terms.
I have Ubuntu server 14.04.4 and the Plex version 0.9.16.3.1840-cece46d.
All i can find on this is that it could be a permissions problem but I am not sure and don't know how to fix this if that is what the problem is.
Besides the media itself, the most important element of a media server software is how up to date it is–you can’t watch videos if the server doesn’t know they’re there.
Plex Media Server offers three ways to keep your media collection up to date so you always know what’s available.
